Title: Not Ordinary Hands
Memorize: I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting; 1 Timothy 2:8 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Exodus 17:8-13 (Nkjv)
[8] Now Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim.
[9] And Moses said to Joshua, “Choose us some men and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand.”
[10] So Joshua did as Moses said to him, and fought with Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
[11] And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
[12] But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
[13] So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
Message:
Many people at different times have drawn God’s attention to themselves by lifting their hands to heaven.
Lifting your hands to heaven is a symbolic way of saying that you trust God completely.
Moses was one Bible character who did this on many occasions; he lifted his hands when he got to the Red Sea, and it parted for him.
Again, in the battle with the Amalekites, the children of Israel won simply because he raised his hands to heaven.
As a child of God, raising your hands to heaven should be a must-do for you. You must always trust God every step of the way.
If you are having difficulties in any area, lift your hands to God in prayer, and He will come to your rescue.
If you lay your hands on any part of your body, you’ll be healed.
However, you cannot expect God to answer you when your hands are soiled with sin; only a pure hand will be acceptable to God.
When your hands are pure, everything you lay your hands on will prosper.
Henceforth, God will answer you when you lift your hands to Him, in Jesus’ name.
Key Point:
Father, please give me victory in every area I’m experiencing challenges (mention them) as I lift my hands to you today, in Jesus’ name.
HYMN 7 – I AM THINE O LORD.
1.I am Thine, O Lord
I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Chorus:
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died.
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessd Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
2. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the power of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.
3. Oh the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!
4. There are depths of love
That I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy
That I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.
