Title: Financial Wisdom
Memorize: There is desirable treasure, and oil in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man squanders it. Proverbs 21:20 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Proverbs 21:5 (Nkjv)
[5] The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.
Message:
Honoring God is very important, and His children can honor Him through the decisions they make every day, including financial decisions. When the prodigal son requested his inheritance from his father and squandered it on frivolities, he dishonored his father in the process because he had wasted his father’s hard-earned money. The Bible says silver and gold belong to God; this means that God owns your resources, and you should honor Him through your financial decisions.
Possessing financial intelligence is crucial as you move through life. Just as God calls His children to be good stewards of their talents, He also desires them to manage their finances wisely so that they can make wise choices, avoid debt, and give generously.
To be financially wise or intelligent, you need to budget, save, and make informed decisions about your monthly income, cash gifts, or business ventures. Learning to be financially wise now will save you from financial issues when you grow older.
Reflection:
Are you honoring God through your financial decisions?
HYMN 43: LEAD US HEAVENLY FATHER, LEAD US
1 Lead Us, Heavenly Father, Lead Us
O’er The World’s Tempestuous Sea;
Guard Us, Guide Us, Keep Us, Feed Us,
For We Have No Help But Thee,
Yet Possessing Every Blessing
If Our God Our Father Be.
2 Saviour, Breathe Forgiveness O’er Us;
All Our Weakness Thou Dost Know;
Thou Didst Tread This Earth Before Us,
Thou Didst Feel lts Keenest Woe;
Lone And Dreary, Faint And Weary,
Through The Desert Thou Didst Go.
3 Spirit Of Our God, Descending,
Fill Our Hearts With Heavenly Joy,
Love With Every Passion Blending,
Pleasure That Can Never Cloy;
Thus Provided, Pardoned, Guided,
Nothing Can Our Peace Destroy.
