Title: Don’t Fight God
Memorize: “Woe to him who strives with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’ Or shall your handiwork say, ‘He has no hands’? Isaiah 45:9-10 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Isaiah 45:9-10 (Nkjv)
[9] “Woe to him who strives with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’ Or shall your handiwork say, ‘He has no hands’?
[10] Woe to him who says to his father, ‘What are you begetting?’ Or to the woman, ‘What have you brought forth?’ ”
Message:
A lawyer once told me that tithing was just a means for pastors to collect people’s hard-earned money.
I tried to explain to him that tithing was a commandment from God, but he refused to listen.
Then I said to him, “May I ask God to prove by Himself if tithing is His will or not through you?” He replied, “Yes”, so I prayed a simple prayer concerning him.
This brilliant lawyer lost the three cases he handled immediately after this incident.
This tarnished his reputation, and he lost some of his businesses.
He also owned a bakery, and suddenly, during a festive period when most bakeries experienced a higher demand and made more sales, all his bakers decided to resign from their jobs.
He offered to double their salaries, but they insisted that they were leaving. As hard as he tried, he could not employ new bakers.
When he realised that it was God Who was fighting against him, he came to me and said, “l agree now that tithing is God’s will; please pray for me.”
We prayed a simple prayer, and he appealed the three cases he had lost and won them all. His bakers also returned to work, and everything became good again.
My dear child, never join those who speak against biblical doctrines and disobey them.
Key Point:
Never go against God’s word and instructions.
HYMN 55: CHRISTIAN, SEEK NOT YET REPOSE
1 Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose;
Hear Thy Guardian Angel Say,
“Thou Art In The Midst Of Foes:
Watch And Pray!”
2 Principalities And Powers,
Mustering Their Unseen Array,
Wait For Thy Unguarded Hours:
“Watch And Pray.”
3 Gird Thy Heavenly Armour On;
Wear It Every Night And Day
Ambush’d Lies The Evil One:
“Watch And Pray.”
4 Hear The Victors Who O’ercame;
Still They Mark Each Warrior’s Way;
All With One Sweet Voice Exclaim,
“Watch And Pray!”
5 Hear, Above AlI, Hear Thy Lord,
Him Thou Lovest To Obey;
Hide Within Thy Heart His Word:
“Watch And Pray!.”
6 Watch, As If On That Alone
Hung The Issue Of The Day;
Pray, That Help May Be Sent Down:
Watch And Pray.
