Title: Forgetting Your Source?

Memorize: then you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.’ Deuteronomy 8:17

Bible Reading (Nkjv): Ecclesiastes 12:1

[1] Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the [a]difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them”

Message:

It’s not news that a champion can become an ex-champion, so also can a blessing turn into a curse.

When God blesses a fellow, and he or she doesn’t acknowledge Him. the blessing can turn into a curse. This is because God will not share His glory with any man.

Do you know that there are those who are studying and working harder than you, yet, they don’t have good results to show for it?

Many young people attribute their achievements to their efforts, smartness, wisdom or talents.

It’s even worse when it comes to performing responsibilities in God’s house, where people attribute their achievement in spiritual things to their human strategies, forgetting that God is the source of every victory.

If God doesn’t endorse a program/project, the laborers will labor in vain.

So, the next time you do something great or achieve something good, don’t attribute it to your effort: just give all the glory to God because He is the One crowning your efforts with success.

Prayer Point:

Father, please forgive me for taking the glory that’s meant for You.

HYMN 9 – O JESUS, I HAVE PROMISED

1. O Jesus, I have promised
To serve Thee to the end;
Be Thou for ever near me,
My Master and my Friend:
I shall not fear the battle
If Thou art by my side,
Nor wander from the pathway
If Thou wilt be my Guide.

2. O let me feel Thee near me;
The world is ever near;
I see the sights that dazzle,
The tempting sounds I hear;
My foes are ever near me,
Around me and within;
But, Jesus, draw Thou nearer,
And shield my soul from sin.

3. O let me hear Thee speaking
In accents clear and still,
Above the storms of passion,
The murmurs of self-will;
O speak to reassure me,
To hasten or control;
O speak and make me listen,
Thou Guardian of my soul.

4. O Jesus, Thou hast promised
To all who follow Thee,
That where Thou art in Glory
There shall Thy servant be;
And, Jesus, I have promised
To serve Thee to the end;
O give me grace to follow
My Master and my Friend.
