Title: Divine Favor
Memorize: And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be, when you go, that you shall not go empty-handed. Exodus 3:21 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Genesis 39:21-22 (Nkjv)
[21] But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
[22] And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners who were in the prison; whatever they did there, it was his doing.
Message:
Divine favor is granted out of God’s benevolence to a fellow. When a slave becomes a queen unopposed and a prisoner becomes a ruler without contesting in an election, their experiences can only be described as divine favor. God’s favor can turn a small business that yields very little income into a fountain of blessings that helps a fellow acquire properties and assets and feed many nations.
By divine favor, a glorious future can replace a shameful history. Likewise, an empty basket can be filled with superabundance. Divine favor is a benefit of being associated with God, and it flows out of His good nature. From today’s memory verse, we see that God chose Israel from amongst the nations of the earth, and out of His goodness, He delivered them from slavery and brought them to a flourishing land, which they did not build.
Beloved, do not give up; be diligent and trust God for His divine favor. May His favor single you out for scholarships, awards, and help, in Jesus’ name.
Key Point:
Father, please let me receive your favor in everything I do.
HYMN 17 – There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing
1. There shall be showers of blessing”
This is the promise of love;
There shall be season refreshing
Send from a savior above
CHORUS
Showers of blessing
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy drop round are falling
But for the showers we plead.
2. ”There shall be showers of blessing”
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys;
Sound of abundance of rain.
3. ”There shall be showers of blessing”
Send them upon us Oh Lord!
Grant to us a refreshing;
Come now and honour Thy Word.
4. ”There shall be showers of blessing”
Oh, that today thy might fall,
Now as to God we are confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
5. ”There shall be showers of blessing”
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be season refreshing,
If we let God have his way.
