Title: Shine The Light
Memorize: Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. Isaiah 60:1 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Isaiah 60:1–2 (Nkjv)
[1] Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
[2] For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.
Message:
The world today is full of darkness—immorality, wickedness, crime, and many sinful behaviours that separate people from God. Yet, in today’s Bible reading, God commands His children to arise. Why? Because He has chosen to shine His light through us.
You must never dim your light or limit it to church alone. God expects His children to shine everywhere—at home, in school, in the neighbourhood, and even online. If you have friends who do not know Jesus, the best way to shine your light around them is by living like Christ.
For example, imagine you are on your way out and suddenly notice a neighbour lying critically ill. As an ambassador of Christ, you can boldly lay your hands on them and command healing in Jesus’ name.
Afterward, you can call for adults or medical help to take the person to the hospital. That simple act of compassion and faith can shine Christ’s light into many hearts and draw others to God.
My dear child, don’t just claim to be a Christian—live as one. Let Christ’s light in you shine so brightly that the world cannot ignore it.
Prayer Point:
Father, please help me to shine Your light always.
Hymn 30: When we walk with the Lord
1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2 Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey. [Refrain]
3 But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain]
4 Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we’ll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]
