Title: Daniel Prayed
Memorize: Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Daniel 6:10-11 (Nkjv)
[10] Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
[11] Then these men assembled and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.
Message:
Daniel had a routine of praying three times daily on his knees with his windows open and facing Jerusalem.
When His enemies tricked the king into making a malicious decree that no one should pray to any God, Daniel did not compromise on his routine.
Even when the decree brought a threat to his life, Daniel continued to pray.
By God’s grace, I have been consistent with my prayer life because I know that for me to remain relevant here on earth, I must keep in touch with my Source – God.
Daniel’s consistent prayer life was evident in his ability to serve in three different governments; he remained relevant. He also had an excellent spirit from God.
My dear child, for you to be excellent in your chosen field or business, you must be a prayer champion.
Prayer connects you to God, the Supplier of the wisdom and resources you need to succeed.
When you face threats and challenges in life, do not panic; rather, go on your knees and pray to the living God in faith, and He will answer you.
Key Point:
Make prayer a lifestyle.
HYMN 22: SWEET HOUR OF PRAYER! SWEET HOUR OF PRAYER!
1 Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
that calls me from a world of care,
and bids me at my Father’s throne
make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
my soul has often found relief,
and oft escaped the tempter’s snare
by thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
2 Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
the joys I feel, the bliss I share
of those whose anxious spirits burn
with strong desires for thy return!
With such I hasten to the place
where God my Savior shows his face,
and gladly take my station there,
and wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!
3 Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
thy wings shall my petition bear
to him whose truth and faithfulness
engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since he bids me seek his face,
believe his word, and trust his grace,
I’ll cast on him my every care,
