Title: Loving God’s Word
Memorize: And I will delight myself in Your commandments, which I love. Psalm 119:47 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Joshua 1:18 (Nkjv)
[18] This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Message:
To love God’s word is to take delight in reading, meditating and obeying His word. There are blessings attached to loving God’s word. When you love God’s word, it will serve as a guide and keep you from sin and you will not be deceived by wrong doctrines because you know the truth.
In addition, it will give you joy, guide your thoughts and words, build your confidence in God, give you good success, and make you closer to Him. Love for God’s word can be developed in many ways.
For example, by making a habit of reading the Bible daily. To enhance your meditation on God’s word, get some sticky notes, write scriptures on them, and paste them on your room walls, bathroom mirror, closets, laptops et cetera.
You can write out the memory verse for each day in this devotional daily for a start. This will enhance your meditation. Then, if there’s anything you don’t understand, don’t hesitate to ask the Holy Spirit for help.
Prayer Point:
Father, help me to love your word.
WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD
1. When we walk with the Lord,
In the light of His word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
CHORUS
Trust and obey!
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.
