Title: Backsliding
MEMORIZE: But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62 (NKJV)
BIBLE READING ISAIAH 1:4 (NKJV)
Alas, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a brood of evildoers, children who are corrupters! they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked to anger the Holy One of Israel, they have turned away backward.
MESSAGE;
Backsliding is the act of going back to the sin that was once repented of. The Bible says that a backslider is not fit for the kingdom of God, as God does not delight in him/her at all. The end of a backslider is usually not good because God isn’t involved in any area of his her life.
Satan uses different schemes such as bad association, Lukewarmness, prayerlessness, non-meditation on the word of God, unforgiveness, et cetera, to try to distance believers from God in order to make them backslide.
When a believer backslides, the sense of God’s presence leaves him/her and he/she becomes open to the manipulation of the devil. As a child of God, I encourage you to do the things that please your Heavenly Father always and be wary of any form of backsliding.

HYMN 3 – ALL TO JESUS I SURRENDER
- All to Jesus I surrender
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.
CHORUS
I surrender all.
I surrender all:
All to Thee, my blessed saviour
I surrender all
- All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow;
Worldly pleasures all forsaken.
Take me, Jesus, take me now. - All to Jesus I surrender.
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me. - All to Jesus I surrender,
Now I feel the sacred flame
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory to His name!
