Title: Open Up
Memorize: He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. Proverbs 28:13 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: James 5:16 (Nkjv)
[16] Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
Message:
There is nothing new under the sun; no matter what you are going through right now, someone else has experienced it before.
The journey to deliverance from negative situations begins when a fellow opens up to the right people.
If you don’t deal with any secret sin that might exist in your life now, satan will use it against you later in life.
I used to be a notorious fellow when I was an unbeliever. I did all manner of negative things, and I am truly grateful to God for saving me despite all I did.
I keep saying that if I were God, I would not have saved Adeboye.
In some of my books and sermons, I opened up on my past so that nothing would catch my future by surprise.
It wasn’t easy, but I knew that it was the right thing to do because of the glorious plan God has for my life.
My dear child, if you want to destroy a sinful habit, open up about it to a godly and mature counselor.
Make up your mind to bear the consequences, and you will be delivered.
Don’t secretly engage in fornication, drug use, and worldliness and refuse to repent.
On the last day, whatever sin a fellow failed to repent of will be revealed, after which that fellow will be judged.
Action Point:
If you are struggling with any sinful habit, talk to a godly and mature counselor today.
HYMN 53: ‘TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS
1 ’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, Thus saith the Lord.
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him,
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er,
Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more.
2 O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
Just in simple faith to plunge me,
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood.
3 Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life, and rest, and joy, and peace.
4 I’m so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end..
