Title: Your Content Matters
Memorize: but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. Matthew 25:4 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Matthew 9:16-17 (Nkjv)
[16] No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and the tear is made worse.
[17] Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”
Message:
In today’s Bible reading, Jesus emphasised the need to put new wine in the right container in order to preserve both the wine and the container. Can a baker fill a meat pie dough with fried yam instead of mashed potatoes, minced beef, and veggies? You can be sure that such a snack will not give you a satisfying taste because it is not filled with the right contents.
As a child of God, you are a container that ought to be filled with the Holy Spirit for you to be effective. Ephesians 5:18 tells us to put into our body the right content, which is the Holy Spirit. This is why I always ask for the in-filling of the Holy Spirit because if He is in me, then no besetting sin or bad habit can live in me.
There are some contaminants that can hinder the Holy Spirit from staying in a believer’s container. They include pornography, unholy jesting, worldly entertainment, masturbation, et cetera. My dear child, make sure your temple is always clean for the Holy Spirit to dwell in you.

What is in your container?

Hymn 61: Take The Name Of Jesus With You
1 Take the name of Jesus with you,
Child of sorrow and of woe.
It will joy and comfort give you,
Take it then where’er you go.
Chorus:
Precious name, O how sweet!
Hope of earth and joy of heaven;
Precious name, O how sweet!
Hope of earth and joy of heaven.
2 Take the name of JesUs ever
As a shield from evr’y snare;
If temptations ’round you gather,
Breathe that holy name in prayer.
3 Oh, the precious name of Jesus,
How it thrills our souls with joy,
When His loving arms receive us,
And His songs Our tongues employ!
4 At the name of Jesus bowing,
Falling prostrate at His feet
King of kings, in heaven we’ll crown Him
When our journey is complete.
