OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS SUNDAY, AUGUST 6, 2023

THEME: ZOE
MEMORISE: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my words and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation: but is passed from death unto life. John 5:24

READ: Romans 6:23(NIV)
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[a] Christ Jesus our Lord.

MESSAGE
‘Zoe’ is a greek word which means life. It is used in the Bible to mean eternal life or “The God-kind of life.” Everyone has the power to act and live like God, but it is hot until a fellow is born-again that this life is activated in them.
Zoe is the essence of salvation; it
is the nature of God (John 5:6). It is not just about spending eternity with God in heaven,it starts here on earth. As God’s child, you have the privilege of eternal life here which can enable you to live a life that is free from sin and eternal damnation.
Therefore, make a conscious effort to evaluate yourself daily to know if you’re still living the God-kind of life. Reflect on your relationship with people and the Lord and ask that His will be formed in you daily.

PRAYER POINT
Father, please help me to live like You daily.
HYMN 4 – ON A HILL FAR AWAY

  1. On a hill far away
    Stood an old rugged cross,
    The emblem of suffering and shame;
    And I love that old cross
    Where the dearest and best
    For a world of lost sinners was slain.

CHORUS
So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross;
And exchange it someday for a crown.

  1. Oh, that old rugged cross
    So despised by the world,
    Has a wondrous attraction for me;
    For the dear Lamb of God
    Left His glory above,
    To bear it to dark Calvary.
  2. In the old rugged cross,
    Stained with blood so divine,
    A wondrous beauty I see;
    For ’twas on that old cross
    Je-sus suffered and died,
    To par -don and sanc-ti-fy me.
  3. To the old rugged cross
    I will ever be true,
    Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
    Then He’ll call me some day
    To my home far away,
    Where His glory for-ever share
