Title: The Integrity Of Boaz
Memorize: The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him. Proverbs 20:7
Bible Reading: Proverbs 28:6-10
[6] Better is the poor who walks in his integrity Than one perverse in his ways, though he be rich.
[7] Whoever keeps the law is a discerning son,
But a companion of gluttons shames his father.
[8] One who increases his possessions by usury and extortion Gathers it for him who will pity the poor.
[9] One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer is an abomination.
[10] Whoever causes the upright to go astray in an evil way, He himself will fall into his own pit;
But the blameless will inherit good.
Message:
Integrity is being true to your word. When you are a person of integrity, what you say will be consistent with what you do.
Anyone who calls himself or herself a Christian must be a person of integrity.
In Matthew 5:37, Jesus Christ said, ”But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.”
As someone with integrity, it is important to fulfil promises you make to people. If, for any reason, you cannot fulfil your promise, you must discuss it with the fellow involved and explain the circumstances.
You shouldn’t go back on a promise without any explanation – that is not what your Father in heaven would do.
Philippians 2:10-11 says that the name of Jesus is so powerful. At the mention of His name, every knee in heaven, on earth, and underneath the earth should bow, and every tongue should confess that Jesus is Lord.
As powerful as the name of Jesus is, the Bible says that He magnifies His Word above it (Psalm 138:2). This is why we completely trust in the word of God.
We know that He can and will do what He says He will do.
Key Point:
If you say that you are Christ-like, then your word must be your bond.
