Title: Do You Know Jesus?
Memorize: Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him. Job 13:15 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Luke 7:2-10 (Nkjv)
[2] And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick and ready to die.
[3] So when he heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to Him, pleading with Him to come and heal his servant.
[4] And when they came to Jesus, they begged Him earnestly, saying that the one for whom He should do this was deserving,
[5] “for he loves our nation, and has built us a synagogue.”
[6] Then Jesus went with them. And when He was already not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, “Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof.
[7] Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.
[8] For I also am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
[9] When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him, “I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!”
[10] And those who were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well who had been sick.
Message:
Your knowledge about Jesus has a lot to do with what you can get from Him. In Matthew 8:1-3, the Bible says that a leper came to Jesus and said, “I know that you can make me clean.” He did not say, “I think you can make me clean”; he knew, without any doubt, that Jesus could heal him, and he got his miracle. In Mark 5:25-34, the woman with the issue of blood knew that there was enough anointing in Jesus’ clothes to heal her.
In today’s Bible reading, the centurion also knew that Jesus could heal his servant. He was confident that his servant would get his healing if Jesus would only speak a word. When you truly know Jesus and how powerful He is, you can get whatever you ask Him for in prayers according to His will (1 John 5:14- 15).
When you pray to God in the name of Jesus, do you really know that He hears you? Do you know that He has the ability to provide all your needs and solve whatever problems you might be facing? If you indeed have this knowledge, I congratulate you because your problems are already over.
Key Point:
When you know the God you pray to, you can get anything from Him.

Hymn 15 – ‘Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus
’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, “Thus saith the Lord.”
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!
O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood!
Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.
I’m so glad I learn’d to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend,
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
