Title: Thoughts And Life
Memorize: Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (Nkjv)
[3] For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
[4] For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
[5] casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
Message:
What you allow into your mind has the power to influence your life. This is why today’s Bible reading encourages us to reject thoughts and imaginations that go against the knowledge of God. As a child of God, you are expected to replace negative, harmful, or impure thoughts with pure and positive ones that align with the Scriptures.
Some teenagers spend their leisure time watching horror movies or ungodly content that corrupts their minds. Then they wonder why their spiritual strength weakens.
We live in a wicked world, and as a result, wicked thoughts can easily enter our hearts. However, you must guard your heart diligently, because it directs your actions. When your thoughts are centred on God, your life will radiate His presence and glory.
My dear child, if you want your heart to remain pure, you must fill it with things that are good, edifying, and holy.
Key Point:
Guard your heart diligently.
Bible Quiz:
Write two godly thought patterns based on Philippians 4:8?
HYMN 1: AT THE CROSS
1 Alas! And did my Savior bleed
And did my Sovereign die?
Would He devote that sacred head
For such a worm as I?
Chorus:
At the cross, at the cross
Where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!
2 Was it for crimes that I had done
He groaned upon the tree?
Amazing pity! Grace unknown!
And love beyond degree!
3 Well might the sun in darkness hide
And shut his glories in,
When Christ, the mighty Maker died,
For man the creature’s sin.
4 Thus might I hide my blushing face
While His dear cross appears,
Dissolve my heart in thankfulness,
And melt my eyes to tears.
5 But drops of grief can ne’er repay
The debt of love I owe:
Here, Lord, I give my self away
’Tis all that I can do.
