Title: Value Your Mother
Memorize: Listen to your father who begot you, and do not despise your mother when she is old. Proverbs 23:22 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Proverbs 1:8-9 (Nkjv)
[8] My son, hear the instruction of your father, And do not forsake the law of your mother;
[9] For they will be a graceful ornament on your head, And chains about your neck.
Message:
In Exodus 20:12, God’s instruction about honouring one’s parents is every clear. However, some teenagers today are quick to honour their fathers and treat their mothers with disrespect. This is dangerous, and it displeases God. Some teenagers feel that their mothers are too soft or always available, so they take them for granted. Beloved, mothers carry heavy burdens for their children’s sake sacrifice a lot physically, emotionally, and spiritually to see them succeed; therefore, they should be valued.
The Bible tells us about Jochebed, the mother of Moses, who risked her life to preserve his. That sacrifice led Moses to the palace and, ultimately, to his destiny. When my mother was still alive, she would bless me with prayers whenever I did something that pleased her. Today, I see those blessings unfolding in my life. Never underestimate your mother’s blessings.
My dear child, consider buying a gift for your mum or a mother figure in your life today, or help such a person with a chore. Furthermore, if you have disrespected such a person in the past, today presents the perfect opportunity to say, “I’m sorry,” and make things right.
Action Point:
Buy a gift for your mum or a mother figure in your life today.

Hymn 15: When We Walk With The Lord
1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2 Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey. [Refrain]
3 But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain]
4 Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we’ll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]
