Title: Feeling Left Out?
Memorize: But all this was done that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled. Matthew 26:56 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Job 19:13-21 (Nkjv)
[13] “He has removed my brothers far from me, And my acquaintances are completely estranged from me.
[14] My relatives have failed, And my close friends have forgotten me.
[15] Those who dwell in my house, and my maidservants, Count me as a stranger; I am an alien in their sight.
[16] I call my servant, but he gives no answer; I beg him with my mouth.
[17] My breath is offensive to my wife, And I am [a]repulsive to the children of my own body.
[18] Even young children despise me; I arise, and they speak against me.
[19] All my close friends abhor me, And those whom I love have turned against me.
[20] My bone clings to my skin and to my flesh, And I have escaped by the skin of my teeth. [21] “Have pity on me, have pity on me, O you my friends, For the hand of God has struck me!
Message:
To feel left out is an awareness, either real or imagined, of being excluded from the company or activities of others. This feeling can sometimes be overwhelming and frustrating. However, before you overthink and worry about feeling left out, you should know that Jesus Christ was once in your shoes (Matthew 26:55- 56), and He knows how you feel.
As worrisome as feeling left out may be, always look on the bright side. When your friends exclude you from their plans, especially if what they intend to do is not good, you should be happy because it will drive you closer to God. Job is a good example; he was left alone by his friends and family during his trials. They were not there for him when he needed them the most, but at last, his trials brought him closer to God and made him realize that all he had was God and that he could not put his trust in friends.
Do you feel left out and alone? I want you to know that you are not alone. The Bible says in Isaiah 43:2 that when you pass through the fire, it will not burn you, and when you pass through water, it will not overflow you, because God is with you. As He was present with the three Hebrew boys in the furnace of fire, He is with you.
Key Point:
When you feel left out, remember that you’re not alone; Jesus is with you.
