Title: Who do You Fear
Memorize: The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe. Proverbs 29:25 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading (Nkjv): Proverbs 29:25-27
[25] The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.
[26] Many seek the ruler’s favor, but justice for man comes from the Lord.
[27] An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, and he who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.
Message:
As God’s favorite, you have which leads to unusual boldness. Hence, Proverbs 28:1 says that a child of God has the boldness that you find in lions. Today’s text also shows that the fear of man brings a share, but those who put their trust in the Lord will be safe. If you are a child of God, you will fear no man but God alone.
In your school, you should not be afraid of any teacher who says you will fail his subject. In your university. you should not be afraid of cultists, in fact, they should see you and run because you carry God’s presence. The only person you should fear is God. If you look through the scriptures, you will find out that those who feared men fell into traps and those who feared God were saved from the traps of men. For instance, when a decree was made that no one could pray, rather than fear the men who made the decree, Daniel feared God and prayed. Eventually, the men replaced him in the lion’s den (Daniel 6.) I pray that the Lord will show up for you every time you stand up for him.
Key Point:
Men are to be respected and honored, not feared. Only God should be feared.
O LORD MY GOD WHEN IM IN AWESOME WONDER
- Oh lord my God, when I in awesome
wonder,
Consider all the worlds thy hands have
made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Chorus:
Then sings my soul, my savior god, to thee, How great thou art! How great thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee, How great thou art! How great thou art! - And when I think, that god, his son not sparing
Sent him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing.
He bled and died to take away my sin. - When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook, and feel the gentle breeze. - When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration, And then proclaim, “My god, how great Thou art!”
