Title: Fear God
Memorize: The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to turn one away from the snares of death. Proverbs 14:27 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Proverbs 2:1-5 (Nkjv)
[1] My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you,
[2] So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding;
[3] Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding,
[4] If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures;
[5] Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God.
Message:
Every wise person knows that the Maker of heaven and earth should be feared.
This is why Proverbs 9:10 says: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
There is no greater foolishness than disregarding God.
If you can fear those who can kill your body, how much more the One who can destroy both your body and soul in hell (Matthew 10:28)?
God should never be disregarded; He is All-knowing, All-powerful, and All sufficient.
He controls everything that exists, whether visible or invisible, and He can destroy any force that dares to oppose Him in an instant.
My dear child, it is better to fear God, live holy, and receive eternal life than to disregard Him here on earth and spend eternity burning in the lake of fire.
When the three Hebrew boys were to choose between sin and God, they chose God because they feared Him.
From today, choose wisely; choose God above every other thing.
Reflection:
Do you fear God?
HYMN 1 – ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS’ NAME
1 All hail the power of Jesus’ name!
Let angels prostrate fall.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all!
2 O seed of Israel’s chosen race
now ransomed from the fall,
hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all.
Hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all!
3 Let every tongue and every tribe
responsive to his call,
to him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all.
To him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all!
4 Oh, that with all the sacred throng
we at his feet may fall!
We’ll join the everlasting song
and crown him Lord of all.
We’ll join the everlasting song
and crown him Lord of all.
