Title: What’s In Your Hands?
Memorize: Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going. Ecclesiastes 9:10 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Exodus 4:1-2, 10-11 (Nkjv)
[1] Then Moses answered and said, “But suppose they will not believe me or listen to my voice; suppose they say, ‘The Lord has not appeared to you.’ ”
[2] So the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A rod.”
Message:
When God called Moses to go and deliver the children of Israel from the hands of Pharaoh, he struggled with the instruction.
He argued with God by presenting his weaknesses, including his speech impairment – he was a stammerer. However, God asked him, “What is in your hand?”
There are some things that are in your life that God expects you to engage with for your breakthrough but that you are yet to discover.
Some people are easily distracted with what they do not have, thinking that if only they had more money, came from a rich home, owned a bigger phone, or got a better opportunity, they would achieve great feats.
However, God is calling their attention to focus on what they have – what He has given them already.
This year, like never before, focus on the people, situations, and resources that are around you.
They may appear insignificant and of little value, but don’t underestimate the great things that they can do in your life.
Reflection:
Father, please open my eyes to see the resources you have placed in my life.
HYMN 3 – DRAW ME NEARER
1 I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
And be closer drawn to Thee.
CHORUS:
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
2 Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.
3 Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
I commune as friend with friend!
4 There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.
