Title: Are you Overwhelmed?
Memorize: From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Isaiah 41:8-10 (Nkjv)
[8] But you, Israel, are My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, The descendants of Abraham My friend.
[9] You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, And called from its farthest regions, And said to you, ‘You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away:
[10] Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
Message:
As a teenager, life can sometimes feel overwhelming. Academic pressures, friendships, family expectations, and societal trends can pull you in different directions, leaving you feeling drained and confused. At such moments, it is important for you to remember that God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
As we see in today’s memory verse, David felt overwhelmed and cried out to God to lead him to the Rock that is higher than him. That Rock is Jesus Christ, our unshakeable foundation. He understands your struggles and offers peace that surpasses all human understanding (Philippians 4:7).
My dear child, if you’re feeling overwhelmed by any situation right now, I want you to pray about it first. Tell the Lord to lift your burden and make you light. Prayer is your direct line to God, and it costs you nothing. Also, I want you to worship God with songs so that you may reposition your heart to become light. Sing praises, meditate on God’s promises, and remind yourself that He is the Burden Bearer.
Key Point:
Jesus is the Burden Bearer.
Hymn 5: Pass Me Not, O Gentle Savior
1 Pass me not, O gentle Savior,
hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
do not pass me by.
Refrain:
Savior, Savior, hear my humble cry;
while on others Thou art calling,
do not pass me by.
2 Let me at a throne of mercy
find a sweet relief,
kneeling there in deep contrition;
help my unbelief. [Refrain]
3 Trusting only in Thy merit,
Would I seek Thy face;
heal my wounded, broken spirit,
save me by Thy grace. [Refrain]
4 Thou, the Spring of all my comfort,
more than life to me;
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Whom in heav’n but Thee? [Refrain]
