Title: Desire More Of God
Memorize: And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Psalm 42:1-5 (Nkjv)
[1] As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God.
[2] My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?
[3] My tears have been my food day and night, While they continually say to me, “Where is your God?”
[4] When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go with the multitude; I went with them to the house of God, With the voice of joy and praise, With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast.
[5] Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance.
Message:
To desire more of God means to long deeply for Him and yearn for a closer relationship with Him. It involves seeking God wholeheartedly, spending quality time in His presence, fellowshipping with Him, and striving to become more like Him in character and conduct.
You may already know God and have a relationship with Him, but you must understand that you can never have too much of God. Therefore, do not become satisfied or complacent with your current level of intimacy with Him.
My dear child, you must go deeper and rise higher in your walk with God. Keep seeking Him and desiring more of Him daily. If you currently pray for one hour each day, challenge yourself to increase it to two hours.
If you read one chapter of the Bible daily, consider reading two. Never become comfortable with your present level of commitment to God. Your hunger for prayer, fasting, Bible study, the power of the Holy Spirit, and God’s presence should increase continually.
When you sincerely seek and desire more of God, you will experience spiritual growth and receive divine guidance that will help you avoid the traps of the enemy. Above all, God is pleased with those who seek Him with all their hearts.
Key Point:
You can never get enough of God. Yearn for more of Him.
Hymn 2: I Am Thine, O Lord
1 I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Refrain:
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
2 Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine. [Refrain]
3 Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
I commune as friend with friend!
4 There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.
