Title: Crossing The Jordan River
Memorize: Then the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the people had crossed completely over the Jordan. Joshua 3:17 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Joshua 3:14-17 (Nkjv)
[14] So it was, when the people set out from their camp to cross over the Jordan, with the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people,
[15] and as those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks during the whole time of harvest),
[16] that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away at Adam, the city that is beside Zaretan. So the waters that went down into the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, failed, and were cut off; and the people crossed over opposite Jericho.
[17] Then the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the people had crossed completely over the Jordan.
Message:
After wandering in the desert for 40 years, the Israelites were finally ready to enter into the Promised Land.
However, the River Jordan stood in their way, and it was overflowing at that season.
God then instructed Joshua to have the priests carry the Ark of the Covenant and step into the river. as soon as the priests’ feet touched the water, the river stopped flowing, and the Israelites crossed on dry ground.
They trusted God to lead them and obeyed His commands despite the seemingly impossible situation.
Having faith means trusting God even when the path ahead is unclear or difficult.
When you face your own ‘River Jordan’, remember that God is with you, and He will provide a way.
My dear child, step forward in faith, knowing that God’s promises are true and that He is always faithful.
I believe that if you are currently facing any challenge, it will become plain, and you will step into your greatness, in Jesus’ name.
Key Point:
Your little faith can move mountains. Simply believe!
HYMN 43: LEAD US HEAVENLY FATHER, LEAD US
1 Lead Us, Heavenly Father, Lead Us
O’er The World’s Tempestuous Sea;
Guard Us, Guide Us, Keep Us, Feed Us,
For We Have No Help But Thee,
Yet Possessing Every Blessing
If Our God Our Father Be.
2 Saviour, Breathe Forgiveness O’er Us;
All Our Weakness Thou Dost Know;
Thou Didst Tread This Earth Before Us,
Thou Didst Feel lts Keenest Woe;
Lone And Dreary, Faint And Weary,
Through The Desert Thou Didst Go.
3 Spirit Of Our God, Descending,
Fill Our Hearts With Heavenly Joy,
Love With Every Passion Blending,
Pleasure That Can Never Cloy;
Thus Provided, Pardoned, Guided,
Nothing Can Our Peace Destroy.
