Title: The Consuming Fire
Memorize: For our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:29
Bible Reading: Psalm 97:3 (Nkjv)
[3] A fire goes before Him, and burns up His enemies round about.
Message:
As compassionate as God is, He is also a Consuming Fire.
I have heard many people say that God cannot consume the whole world with fire at the end of time because He is a loving God.
Let me tell you, He can and will consume all those that are against Him in His fire.
If you are yet to surrender your life to Him, it means that you are against Him.
You better surrender to Him now because His words will come to pass.
On the other hand, as recorded in our Bible text today, children of God who fear Him have nothing to worry about because those that are against you are in trouble: your Father is a Consuming Fire.
Being a Consuming Fire, the moment you open up your heart and let Jesus in, every pain, sorrow, anxiety, depression, failure, poverty, low self-esteem, and ancestral curse will be consumed and burnt off.
So, if you are going through any of these, surrender to Him today so that His fire can melt it all away.
Beloved, if you want the Consuming Fire to defend you and work with you, you must acknowledge and reverence Him.
If you do these, He will work in your favor, and anyone standing as your enemy will become afraid of you.
Reflection:
Are you with or against the Consuming Fire?
HYMN 5 – TAKE MY LIFE AND LET IT BE
1. Take my life and let it
Consecrated Lord to Thee
Take my moment and my days
Let them flow ceaseless praise.
2. Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for thee
3. Take my voice and let me sing
Always only for my king;
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee.
4. Take my sliver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect, and use
Every power as thou shalt choose.
5. Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall no longer mine:
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne,
6. Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store;
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for thee
