Title: Talk Less II
Memorize: He who guards his mouth preserves his life, but he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction. Proverbs 13:3 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Matthew 12 :36 (Nkjv)
[36] But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
Message:
A lot of people get robbed either because of their boastful nature or through information gotten from someone close to them; the former is most common. It is not everything about you and your family that people or even your friends should know about. Not everyone is happy about your possessions and the privileges you enjoy. You need to know that some people get close to others so that they can know how to attack them. Know when to stop divulging information about yourself; it will save you from harm. 2 Timothy 2:16 admonishes:
*”But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.”*
Aside from possibly getting harmed because of the things you say, reckless talking also leads to telling lies, spreading rumours, and gossiping. Do not allow your speech to lead you to sin: you should learn when to speak and when to keep silent.
Key Point:
Reckless talking can lead you to sin.
HYMN 8 – LEAD US HEAVENLY FATHER, LEAD US
1. Lead us, heavenly Father, lead us
O’er the world’s tempestuous sea;
Guard us, guide us, keep us, feed us,
For we have no help but Thee,
Yet possessing every blessing
If our God our Father be.
2. Saviour, breathe forgiveness o’er us;
All our weakness Thou dost know;
Thou didst tread this earth before us,
Thou didst feel its keenest woe;
Lone and dreary, faint and weary,
Through the desert Thou didst go.
3. Spirit of our God, descending,
Fill our hearts with heavenly joy,
Love with every passion blending,
Pleasure that can never cloy;
Thus provided, pardoned, guided,
Nothing can our peace destroy.
