TOPIC: Work Hard

MEMORISE: Love not sleep, lest thou Come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shall be satisfied with bread. Proverbs 20:13

BIBLE READING: Proverbs 20:4 & 13

4 The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.

13 Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.

MESSAGE:

Many people want to be great, but not many are ready to work their way in to greatness. I heard some of my children discussing one day, saying, “How I wish someone would just throw a bag full of money into our compound now. We will just share it and become millionaires.” I laughed because I know it is difficult for most people to be careless with their hard-earned money. One of the ways that their imagination could have come to pass would be if the money was stolen and the robbers decided to throw the bag into the compound while being chased by the police. That kind of money would definitely have spelt trouble.

The Bible makes it clear that only the blessings of God can make you rich without bringing any form of sorrow. My dear child, I need you to start becoming committed to every task you’re given at home and in school. Don’t entertain any form of laziness and wishful thinking. You must be diligent and hardworking as a genuine child of God.

KEY POINT:
You must work hard if you want to enjoy God’s blessings.

HYMN 43 – Lead Us Heavenly Father, Lead Us

1 Lead Us, Heavenly Father, Lead Us
O’er The World’s Tempestuous Sea;
Guard Us, Guide Us, Keep Us, Feed Us,
For We Have No Help But Thee,
Yet Possessing Every Blessing
If Our God Our Father Be.

2 Saviour, Breathe Forgiveness O’er Us;
All Our Weakness Thou Dost Know;
Thou Didst Tread This Earth Before Us,
Thou Didst Feel lts Keenest Woe;
Lone And Dreary, Faint And Weary,
Through The Desert Thou Didst Go.

3 Spirit Of Our God, Descending,
Fill Our Hearts With Heavenly Joy,
Love With Every Passion Blending,
Pleasure That Can Never Cloy;
Thus Provided, Pardoned, Guided,
Nothing Can Our Peace Destroy.
