Title: Follow Good Leadership
Memorize: Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:1 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading (Nkjv): Philippians 3:14-17
[14] I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
[15] Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.
[16] Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.
[17] Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.
Message:
In 2 Timothy 2:2, Apostle Paul said to Timothy: *”And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.“* Paul was sure of his path, so he boldly asked Timothy to follow him and teach others to do the same. Beloved, any Church or fellowship leader who is not heaven-bound is not worth following. When I gave my life to Christ, I was blessed with a leader like Pa Josiah Akindayomi, the founder of The Redeemed Christian Church of God. I saw the glory of God and the image of Jesus Christ in him and knew that if I could follow in his footsteps, I would make it in my Christian walk. He was completely transparent and was a lover of the cross of his Master and Savior. He did not only teach, he also practiced what he taught to the letter.
I advise you to seek out genuine teachers of the word of God and learn from them because only the truth and nothing but the truth can set you free from the errors of the end times.
Prayer Point:
Father, please reveal Yourself to me afresh through Your Son and Your appointed leader over my life, in the mighty name of Jesus.
HYMN 18 – WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD
1. When we walk with the Lord,
In the light of His word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
CHORUS
Trust and obey!
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.
2. Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt nor a fear,
Not a sigh nor a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
3. Not a burden we bear,
Not a sorrow we share
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey
4. But we never can prove
The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
For the favor He shows
And the joy He bestows
Are for them who will trust and obey.
5. Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,
What He says we will do,
Where He sends we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey.
