Title: Study Great People
Memorize: Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
Bible Reading (Nkjv): 2 Timothy 3:16-17
[16] All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for [a]instruction in righteousness,
[17] that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Message:
One notable character that kept me on my toes for three years was Elijah. I coveted his greatness, zeal commitment to God and anointing, so I took to studying his life from the Bible.
Many years ago, when God started performing miracles through me in The Redeemed Christian Church of God, it was through laying on of hands, and people fell under the anointing.
Then, the church grew, and it became almost impossible to lay hands on everyone especially during annual programes.
So, I went back to my Bible and started studying the life of Peter and Paul, whose handkerchiefs and shadows performed miracles.
Gradually, I connected to this truth in faith, and now, it’s a reality that God performs miracles through handkerchiefs and dresses prayed upon at our meetings.
Therefore, to become great in any field, study the great people in that field. You will know their strengths, weaknesses, and mistakes.
Action Point:
To become like the greatest Being who ever lived – Jesus Christ, study Him through His word and do as He did.
HYMN 21 – I WANT TO BE LIKE JESUS
1. I want to be like Jesus,
So lowly and so meek;
For no one mark’d an angry word,
That ever heard Him speak,
2. I want to be like Jesus,
So frequently in prayer;
Alone upon the mountain top,
He met his Father there.
3. I want to be like Jesus,
I never, never find
That He, though persecuted was
To anyone unkind.
4. I want to be like Jesus,
Engaged in doing good;
So that of me it may be said
“He hath done what he could.”
5. I want to be like Jesus,
Who sweetly said to all,
“Let little children come to Me;”
I would obey the call.
6. But oh I’m not like Jesus,
As anyone may see;
O gentle Savior, send Thy grace,
And make me like to Thee
