Title: Arise, Take Your Place
Memorize: You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4
Bible Reading (Nkjv): Isaiah 60 1-2
[1]Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
[2] For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you.
Message:
After receiving the gift of salvation, many Christians still don’t take their place in the Kingdom of God. They remain at the level of salvation all through their lives under the guise of “it’s all by grace, not by works.” Thus, they claim that spiritual growth doesn’t come by works, forgetting that the Bible says: “faith without works is dead”.
You cannot afford to stay as a baby Christian for years. You must desire the sincere milk of God’s word which is necessary for your spiritual growth. Only then will you be able to do exploits for God, take new territories, win souls, perform miracles, pray in the Holy Ghost, overcome bad habits, etcetera.
Those who get commended by God are those who grow in grace. Dear child, rise today, take your place, and begin to put in the work so that you can grow in the things of the Spirit.
Reflection:
Young kingdom generals are rising in different sectors. Will you be one of them?
HYMN 6 I’M PRESSING ON THE UPWARD WAY
1. I’m pressing on the upward way, New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground”.
Chorus:
Lord, lift me up and let me stand, By faith on heaven’s table-land;
Where love and joy and light abound, Lord, plant my feet on higher ground?
2. My heart has no desire to stay, Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these abound,
My constant aim is higher ground.
3. Beyond the mist I fain would rise, To rest beneath unclouded skies, Above earth’s turmoil peace is found By those who dwell on higher ground.
4. I long to scale the utmost height, Though rough the way, and hard the fight,
My song while climbing shall resound Lord lead me on to higher ground.
5. Lord lead me up the mountain side, I dare not climb without my Guide; And heaven gained, I’ll gaze around, With grateful heart from higher ground.
