Title: More Than Conquerors
Memorize: Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Romans 8:35-37 (Nkjv)
[35] Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
[36] As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
[37] Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Message:
A fellow once said that to be more than a conqueror means to be greater than a winner, and he related it to a boxer who fights and defeats his opponents, gets his prize, and then returns home and hands over the prize to his wife. According to this fellow, the wife is the one who is more than the conqueror.
A conqueror is one who has had multiple victories from several battles. There are several enemies that accost us in battles, one of which are generational curses. These are curses pronounced on a family even before a person’s birth, and it keeps affecting the generations birthed after. For instance, in Genesis 49:1-4, Jacob pronounced a curse on Reuben; this curse affected him and generations after him. Is there any sign of a generational curse in your life? Ask God to destroy it today. However, you need to find out if there is anything that makes such a Curse continue to operate in your life So that you can stop it. When God wins battles for you, you become more than a conqueror.
Key Point:
Jesus was made a curse so that you can be blessed. Claim your freedom in Christ today.
HYMN 15 – ONWARD, CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS
1. Onward, Christian soldiers!
Marching as to war,
Looking unto Jesus,
Who is gone before;
Christ, the Royal Master,
Leads against the foe;
Forward into battle,
See His banners go.
CHORUS
Onward, Christian soldiers!
Marching as to war,
Looking unto Jesus,
Who is gone before.
2. At the name of Jesus
Satan’s host doth Ilee;
On then, Christian soldiers
On to victory!
Hell’s foundations quiver
At the shout of praise:
Brothers, lift your voices,
Loud your anthems raise.
3. Like a mighty army
Moves the Church of God:
Brothers, we are treading
Where the saints have trod.
We are not divided,
All one body we
One in hope and doctrine,
One in charity.
4. Crowns and thrones may perish
Kingdoms rise and wane;
But the Church of Jesus
Constant will remain:
Gates of hell can never
‘Gainst that church prevail;
We have Christ’s own promise-
And that cannot fail.
5. Onward then, ye people,
Join our happy throng;
Blend with ours your voices
In the triumph song:
“Glory, praise and honor,
Unto Christ the King”,
This, through countless ages,
Men and angels sing.
