Title: When Promises Delay
Memorize: For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: Hebrews 10:36 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Genesis 15:1-6 (Nkjv)
[1] After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”
[2] But Abram said, “Lord God, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”
[3] Then Abram said, “Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one born in my house is my heir!”
[4] And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.”
[5] Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”
[6] And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.
Message:
It can be very challenging to remain steadfast in God, especially when His promises seem delayed. However, at such times, rest assured, because His promises never fail; they will surely come to pass. In today’s Bible reading, Abraham trusted in God’s word even when the promise was delayed, and his faith was counted to him as righteousness. This teaches us that believing in God’s promises, even when they seem delayed, strengthens our faith and pleases God (Hebrews 11:6).
My dear child, are you struggling with repeated exam failures, battling an illness that seems unending, or believing God for a financial breakthrough for your family? I decree that the answer you have been waiting for will be released to you today, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
If you have yet to surrender your life completely to Jesus Christ, I urge you to do so now. When you surrender your life completely to Him and truly delight yourself in Him, He will give you every desire in your heart according to His will (Psalm 37:4-5).
Key Point:
Delay is not denial. Keep believing in God.
HYMN: 8 THROUGH THE LOVE OF GOD OUR SAVIOUR
1 Through the love of God our Saviour,
all will be well.
Free and changeless is his favour,
all, all is well.
Precious is the blood that healed us,
perfect is the grace that sealed us,
strong the hand stretched forth to shield us,
all must be well.
2 Though we pass through tribulation,
all will be well.
Ours is such a full salvation,
all, all is well.
Happy, still in God confiding,
fruitful, if in Christ abiding,
holy, through the Spirit’s guiding,
all must be well.
3 We expect a bright tomorrow,
all will be well.
Faith can sing through days of sorrow,
‘All, all is well.’
On our Father’s love relying,
Jesus every need supplying,
in our living, in our dying,
all must be well.
