Title: Period Relaxation
Memorize: but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. Matthew 13:25 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Acts 27:23-23 (Nkjv
[23] For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve,
[24] saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you.’
[25] Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me.
[26] However, we must run aground on a certain island.”
[27] Now when the fourteenth night had come, as we were driven up and down in the Adriatic Sea, about midnight the sailors sensed that they were drawing near some land.
Message:
In today’s Bible reading, we read about military operation that was carried out at night when people would normally be relaxing.
Hence. you need to be careful about your times of relaxation and what you do during these times.
For example, we can see in Genesis 9:20-27 how Noah the man God rescued with his family when the entire world got wiped out, relaxed and get drunk.
This made him pronounce a curse on his younger son who mocked him far being naked. It was also during a period of relaxation that Samson lost his hair and strength.
He relaxed on Delilah’s knees and the enemy took advantage of his distraction (Judges 16-19). The enemy always looks out for periods of relaxation so that he can attack.
My dear child, be mindful of how you relax and the places you go to relax. A lot of young people have been poisoned while they were relaxing with friends over drinks.
Some girls have lost their integrity and others have been kidnapped or even killed while “relaxing”. Your destiny will not be destroyed in Jesus name.
This year do not relax in studying your Bible, praying, giving, working for God and evangelism. Do not give the devil the opportunity to attack. Stay alert at all times.
Key Point:
Be mindful of how you relax and the things you do at those times.
HYMN 20: CHRISTIAN, SEEK NOT YET REPOSE;
1. Christian, seek not yet repose;
Hear thy guardian angel say,
“Thou art in the midst of foes:
Watch and pray!”
2. Principalities and powers ,
Mustering their unseen array,
Wait for thy unguarded hours:
“Watch and pray.”
3. Gird thy heavenly armour on;
Wear it every night and day
Ambush’d lies the evil one:
“Watch and pray.”
4. Hear the victors who o’ercame;
Still they mark each warrior’s way;
All with one sweet voice exclaim,
“Watch and pray!”
5. Hear, above all, hear thy Lord,
Him thou lovest to obey;
Hide within thy heart His word
“Watch and pray!”
