Title: Content Creators
Memorize: Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Matthew 23:5-7 (Nkjv)
[5] But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments.
[6] They love the best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues,
[7] greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, ‘Rabbi, Rabbi.’
Message:
I have discovered that, nowadays, almost every young person wants to be a content creator on social media, and Christians are not left out.
When you read Matthew 23, you will see how Jesus rebuked the Pharisees and Sadducees for their hypocrisy.
The Pharisees and Sadducees advocated deep religious principles such as fasting, holiness, giving, dedication, etc cetera, and compelled others to obey them even though they did not live by those principles themselves.
They would pray so loudly in public, for instance, yet they did not genuinely love God or people.
People like the Pharisees and Sadducees can be referred to as content creators with wrong motives because they show people that they are what they are not.
My dear child, check your motives before doing the things you do. You must be careful to do all you do as unto the Lord.
Do not try to put on an appearance before men that suggests that you are a child of God when you are only putting on the act so that you can have many followers and become an influencer on social media.
If you are guilty of living in hypocrisy, please repent today and ask God to redirect your heart and motives.
Reflection:
What is the motive behind everything you do?
HYMN 63: O FOR A THOUSAND TONGUES TO SING
1 O for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemer’s praise,
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of his grace!
2 My gracious Master and my God,
Assist me to proclaim,
To spread thro’ all the earth abroad
The honours of your name.
3 Jesus! the name that charms ourfears,
that bids our sorrows cease,
‘Tis music in the sinner’s ears,
‘Tis life and health and peace.
4 He breaks the power of cancelled sin,
He sets the prisoner free;
His blood can make the foulest clean;
His blood availed for me.
5 Hear Him, ye dear, His praise, ye dumb,
Your loosened tongues employ
Ye blind behold your Saviour Come;
And leap, ye lame, for joy.
