TOPIC: IMBIBE ETIQUETTE
MEMORISE: Let all things be done decently and in order. 1 Corinthians 14:40
BIBLE READ: TITUS 3:1-2
[1]Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
[2]To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
MESSAGE:
These days, many young people lack basic social etiquette. If you are a genuine child of God, however, you will act accordingly and make Him proud wherever you find yourself.
Apart from portraying you as a true representative of Jesus on earth, imbibing good manners will also earn you the admiration of people.
The following are some basic manners you should imbibe as a child of God:
- Do not text, use social media, or answer calls while speaking with someone. If you need to receive a call, politely excuse yourself.
- Say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ often.
- Apologise when you do something
- Seek permission from the owner of an item before using it.
- Wait your turn to speak in a conversation; don’t interrupt.
- Do not scroll through a person’s phone without permission.
- Always open the door for anyone who is coming after you, be it male or female.
- Cough into your elbow and cover your mouth when you sneeze.
- When sitting next to someone, do not look into the person’s phone or book. Always mind your business.
- Always leave restrooms in good conditions after using them.
- Always chew with your mouth closed. KEY POINT:
Good manners portray you as a child of God.
HYMN:
I’M PRESSING ON THE UPWARD WAY
1: I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining everyday;
Still praying as I onward bound
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
Chorus:
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven’s table-land;
Where love, and joy, and light abound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
2: My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise, and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these abound,
My constant aim is higher ground.
3: Beyond the mist I fain would rise,
To rest beneath unclouded skies,
Above earth’s turmoil peace is found
By those who dwell on higher ground.
4: I long to scale the utmost height,
Though rough the way, and hard the fight,
My song, while climbing, shall resound
Lord, lead me on to higher ground.
5: Lord, lead me up the mountain side
I dare not climb without my Guide;
And, heaven gained, I’ll gaze around,
With grateful heart from higher ground.
