Title Appreciate Your Leaders
Memorize: and the angel of the Lord came back the second time, and touched him, and said, “Arise and eat, because the journey is too great for you.” 1 Kings 19:7 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: John 6:5-13 (Nkjv)
5 Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?”
6 But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.
7 Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.”
8 One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him,
9 “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?”
10 Then Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
11 And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted.
12 So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.”
13 Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.
Message:
Many years ago, I woke up one morning feeling depressed even though I had been fasting for days.
I wondered if all I was doing at that time was worth it because I didn’t feel loved by the people I was labouring over; all that they used to tell me was, “Daddy do this, Daddy do that.” Even their prayers for me did not usually go beyond, “May God keep you for us.”
One day, I was asleep when a young girl woke me up and said, “Daddy, I don’t know the voice of God, but this morning, He asked me to bring this little cake to you.
I know it is not the devil because he will not tell me to give my pastor a cake.” As she was leaving, God said to me, “I thought you said nobody cares?” This act snapped me out of my depression, and I was on fire again.
Beloved, in what ways have you encouraged your pastors who have been praying for you, your teachers in school who have been teaching you, or your Sunday school teachers for always putting you in check and teaching you the ways of God? A gift or appreciation note can do a lot in their lives.
Action Point:
Do something, no matter how little, to appreciate any of your leaders this week
HYMN 11 – O LORD MY GOD, WHEN AM IN AWESOME WONDER,
1. O lord my God!
When am in awesome wonder,
consider all
The worlds thy hands hath made
I see the stars,
I heard the rolling thunder
Thy pow’r thro’ out
The universe displayed
CHORUS
Then sing my soul,
My savior God to thee;
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!
Then sing my soul,
My savior God to thee;
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!
2. Then through the woods
And forest glads I wander,
And hear the birds
Sing sweetly in the tress;
When I look down
From lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook
And feel the gentle breeze;
3. And when I think
That God, His Son not sparing
Sent Him to die
I scare can take it in;
That on the cross,
My burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died
To take away my sin.
4. When Christ shall come
With shout of acclamation
And take me home,
What joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow
In humble adoration
And there proclaim,
My God how great Thou art!
