Title: Upgrade Your Holiness
Memorize: Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: Hebrews 12:14 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Psalm 24:1-4 (Nkjv)
[1] The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.
[2] For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters.
[3] Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place?
[4] He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his
Message:
The main attribute of God is holiness. Isaiah 6:3 says, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” To further buttress the fact that holiness is God’s character.
Bible scholars have discovered that the word holiness was mentioned 611 times in the Bible. Hence, as God’s children, we are meant to be like our Heavenly Father.
Many times, people ask me if it is possible to be holy in this sinful world, and I always respond with ‘yes’, otherwise, God would not have asked us to be holy as He is.
Holiness is something you need to consciously work to attain daily.
Holiness is the attribute that preaches God to people around you, even before you open your mouth to tell them about Christ.
It reflects outwardly even though it is from the inside.
It is also the passport to seeing God and reigning with Him in eternity, as stated in our text for today.
Do you want to see God? Then, be different in your speech, thoughts, dressing, and actions henceforth. Let others see Jesus in you.
Key Point:
Make holiness your watchword from today.
HYMN 12 – HOLY, HOLY, HOLY! LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!
1. Holy, Holy, Holy!
Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning
Our song shall rise to thee:
Holy, holy, holy,
Merciful and Mighty!
God in Three Persons,
Blessed, Trinity!
2. Holy, Holy, Holy!
All the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns
Around the glassy sea:
Cherubim and seraphim
Falling down before Thee,
Which wert and art,
And evermore shalt be.
3. Holy, Holy, Holy!
Though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eyes of sinful man
Thy glory may not see
Only thou art holy:
There is none beside Thee,
Perfect in power, in love, and purity.
4. Holy, Holy, Holy!
Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise
Thy name, in earth and sky, and sea;
Holy, Holy, Holy,
Merciful and Mighty!
God in Three Persons,
Blessed, Trinity!
