Title: Don’t Be Afraid
Memorize: Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading (Nkjv): 2 Chronicles 32:7-8
[7] “Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is with him; for there are more with us than with him.
[8] With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
Message:
Where are many reasons why we cannot afford to be afraid of people. In today’s memory verse, Moses, the servant of God encouraged the children of Israel to be of good courage and to not be afraid of their enemies.
Proverbs 29:25 says: “The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.”
Anyone who wants to represent God in this world must be courageous, or else he/she would make a mess of his/her divine assignment, as in the case of King Saul.
Another reason we should not be afraid of any man or thing is that God is with us, as epitomized in His name, Emmanuel.
He Himself said, “…I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20). Never cast away your confidence by giving in to fear.
Beloved, I encourage you not to give fear a chance in your life. Be strong and courageous in whatever situation you may find yourself in, and God will be with you – body, soul and spirit, in Jesus’ name.
Prayer Point:
Father, banish the spirit of fear from my life in Jesus’ name.
HYMN 18 – WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD
1. When we walk with the Lord,
In the light of His word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
CHORUS
Trust and obey!
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.
2. Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt nor a fear,
Not a sigh nor a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
3. Not a burden we bear,
Not a sorrow we share
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey
4. But we never can prove
The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
For the favor He shows
And the joy He bestows
Are for them who will trust and obey.
5. Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,
What He says we will do,
Where He sends we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey.
