MEMORISE: First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. Romans 1:8
TEXT: Psalms 103:1-2
1](A Psalm of David.) Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2]Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
MESSAGE
Most parts of the book of Psalms are an expression of gratitude from King David to God from his youth up until his old age.
No wonder God referred to him as a man after His heart.
The Yorubas have a saying that, “A child who says thank you for the good deed done to him yesterday will definitely receive another.”
Thanksgiving is a good culture to imbibe now that you are still young. When relating with God, you should be grateful for all that you have received from Him.
When sharing your testimonies about God’s provision, protection, and support for your academics or business, say, “Thank you Jesus”.
When someone does you a favor or gives you any kind of help, no matter how small, say, “Thank you.” If the person is elderly, you should go ahead and add ‘Sir’ or ‘ Ma’.
Saying ‘thank you’ shows that you are thoughtful and appreciative of the good that someone does to you or for you.
The next time you need a favour, such a person would gladly oblige you.
ACTION POINT
Thanksgiving usually opens more doors. Say ‘thank you’ often.
HYMN 11 – O LORD MY GOD, WHEN AM IN AWESOME WONDER,
- O lord my God!
When am in awesome wonder,
consider all
The worlds thy hands hath made
I see the stars,
I heard the rolling thunder
Thy pow’r thro’ out
The universe displayed
CHORUS
Then sing my soul,
My savior God to thee;
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!
Then sing my soul,
My savior God to thee;
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!
Ezoic
- Then through the woods
And forest glads I wander,
And hear the birds
Sing sweetly in the tress;
When I look down
From lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook
And feel the gentle breeze; - And when I think
That God, His Son not sparing
Sent Him to die
I scare can take it in;
That on the cross,
My burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died
To take away my sin. - When Christ shall come
With shout of acclamation
And take me home,
What joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow
In humble adoration
And there proclaim,
My God how great Thou art!
