TOPIC: SPEAKING ILL OF THE ANOINTED?
MEMORISE: But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
BIBLE READING : 2 KINGS 2:23-24
22 So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake.
23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
Today’s Confession: I confess today, I walk in reverence and wisdom, honoring God’s anointed and guarding my words, that I may not invite destruction into my destiny in Jesus’ name. Somebody shout Hallelujah!
MESSAGE:
The children in today’s Bible reading thought they were ‘catching cruise’ when they made fun of Elisha, the man of God.
They laughed at his bald head and felt it was cool to be ill-mannered.
Unfortunately for them, two she-bears appeared and devoured them all.
I’m still amazed at how 42 children were killed by the claws of just two bears.
I believe that a force working against them must have prevented their feet from running fast until the bears caught up with them.
With the advent of social media, some people have already pronounced curses on themselves by attacking or making jest of men of God on social media platforms.
l once heard that I was dragged on X (formerly Twitter) as one of the most controversial pastors in recent times simply because God made me the General Overseer of a fast growing church.
My dear child, I implore you to steer clear of speaking against genuine men of God who might not even be guilty of the allegations that the world is bringing against them so that you will not be destroyed.
ACTION POINT:
Ask God for mercy now if you have ever spoken against a genuine minister or child of God.
HYMN 55:
CHRISTIAN, SEEK NOT YET REPOSE
1 Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose;
Hear Thy Guardian Angel Say,
“Thou Art In The Midst Of Foes:
Watch And Pray!”
2 Principalities And Powers,
Mustering Their Unseen Array,
Wait For Thy Unguarded Hours:
“Watch And Pray.”
3 Gird Thy Heavenly Armour On;
Wear It Every Night And Day
Ambush’d Lies The Evil One:
“Watch And Pray.”
4 Hear The Victors Who O’ercame;
Still They Mark Each Warrior’s Way;
All With One Sweet Voice Exclaim,
“Watch And Pray!”
5 Hear, Above AlI, Hear Thy Lord,
Him Thou Lovest To Obey;
Hide Within Thy Heart His Word:
“Watch And Pra!.”
6 Watch, As If On That Alone
Hung The Issue Of The Day;
Pray, That Help May Be Sent Down:
Watch And Pray.
