TOPIC: YOU ARE LIGHT
MEMORISE: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16
BIBLE READING: MATTHEW 5:14-16
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
MESSAGE:
The world is full of darkness. There are many people who lack direction and guidance, and this is the reason Jesus came into the world as the Light (John 12:46).
Therefore, anyone who receives Jesus into his or her life will no longer walk in confusion and darkness.
Beloved, if you have accepted Jesus Christ into your life, you have the light of Christ in you.
Hence, you are to shine that light wherever you are among your peers, classmates, and people in your environment.
You are the light that the world needs; therefore, let your light bring direction, clarity, and guidance to those in darkness.
Just as darkness cannot prevail where light is, your light can illuminate the lives of those who are still living in sin.
Through you, they can become converted and repent from their sinful lifestyles.
My dear child, when you shine your light, your heavenly Father is glorified, as we see in today’s memory verse.
Stay connected to Him so that your light can shine brighter to those around you every day.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, please help me to shine as light everywhere I go, in Jesus’ name.
HYMN 4:
REVIVE THY WORK, O LORD
1 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
Thy mighty arm make bare;
speak with the voice that wakes the dead,
and make Thy people hear.
Refrain:
Revive Thy work, O Lord,
while here to Thee we bow;
descend, O gracious Lord, descend!
O come and bless us now.
2 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
now let us thirst for Thee;
and hung’ring for the bread of life
may all our spirits be. [Refrain]
3 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
exalt Thy precious name;
and, by the Holy Ghost, our love
for Thee and Thine inflame. [Refrain]
4 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
give pow’r unto Thy word;
grant that Thy blessed gospel may
in living faith be heard. [Refrain]
5 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
and give refreshing show’rs;
the glory shall be all Thine own,
the blessing, Lord, be ours. [Refrain]
