TOPIC: COMPARING YOURSELF?
MEMORIZE: “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul know right well.” Psalms 139:14
BIBLE READING: 2 CORINTHIANS 10:12-13
12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
13 But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.
Today’s Confession: I confess today, I am wonderfully made by God, and I will boldly glorify Him in my body, spirit, and uniqueness in Jesus’ name. Somebody shout Hallelujah!
MESSAGE:
In today’s Bible reading, we see that we don’t need to compare our abilities to those of others.
If you consider that you have different body parts performing different functions that contribute to the well-being of your whole body, you will be content with your physique, talents, and gifts.
You are not inferior to your classmates or siblings because you look different and have different abilities.
Some young people are not comfortable in their skins.
Some of them have given in to bleaching their skins to look lighter, while some who are fair in complexion are tanning their skins to become darker.
Some even wish to be of the opposite gender, and this is why a male would undergo surgery to become a female. This is an abomination!
Wishing to be someone else is an act of ingratitude. Be comfortable in your skin, and be grateful for how God made you.
I always tell myself that I am a unique and beautiful dark woman.
God was very detailed when He created me, and this is why I will continue to encourage my daughters to glorify God with their bodies.
When you focus on your uniqueness, your confidence level will increase every day. You are beautiful and handsome just as you are.
ACTION POINT:
Ask God to open your eyes more to see your uniqueness from today.
HYMN 33 –
GUIDE ME, O THOU GREAT JEHOVAH!
1 Guide me, O Thou Great Jehovah!
Pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but Thou art mighty,
Hold me with Thy powerful hand:
Bread of heaven! Bread of heaven!
Feed me now and evermore,
Feed me now and evermore.
2 Open Thou the crystal fountain,
Whence the healing stream doth flow:
Let the fiery, cloudy pillar,
Lead me all my journey through:
Strong deliverer! Strong deliverer!
Be Thou still my strength and shield,
Be Thou still my strength and shield.
3 If I tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid my anxious fears subside:
Bear me through the swelling torrent,
Land me safe on Canaan’s side:
Songs of praises! Song of praises!
I will ever give to Thee,
I will ever give to Thee.
4 Saviour, come! we long to see Thee,
Long to dwell with Thee above;
And to know in full communion,
All the sweetness of Thy love,
Come, Lord Jesus! Come Lord Jesus!
Take Thy waiting people home,
Take Thy waiting people home.
