Title: From Prison To Palace
Memorize: But many who are first will be last, and the last first. Matthew 19:30 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Genesis 41:37-41 (Nkjv)
[37] So the advice was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of all his servants.
[38] And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?”
[39] Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you.
[40] You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you.”
[41] And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”
Message:
I serve a God who can turn a ‘nobody’ into ‘somebody’ in the twinkling of an eye.
Each time I remember how my father was ridiculed amongst his poor friends by calling him the poorest in our town, I wish they were alive today to see the wonders of God.
By His special grace, God is now using me today to take care of some of the children and grandchildren of those who insulted my dad several years ago.
Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers. He was also wrongly accused of rape and was condemned to rot in prison because he did not have anyone to defend him.
However, God granted him a presidential pardon through the gift of interpretation of dreams.
My dear child, your greatness does not lie in the hands of anyone but you.
The enemy may try to delay your destiny, but you have the power to stop him.
Joseph stayed away from sin and kept using his gifts even in prison, and at the appointed time, God lifted him into the palace.
Like Joseph, avoid sin, be diligent in whatever you do, and God will miraculously improve your situation.
Action Point:
Avoid sin and be diligent in all you do, and God will promote you at the appointed time.
HYMN 61: TAKE THE NAME OF JESUS WITH YOU
1 Take the name of Jesus with you,
Child of sorrow and of woe.
It will joy and comfort give you,
Take it then where’er you go.
Chorus:
Precious name, O how sweet!
Hope of earth and joy of heaven;
Precious name, O how sweet!
Hope of earth and joy of heaven.
2 Take the name of JesUs ever
As a shield from evr’y snare;
If temptations ’round you gather,
Breathe that holy name in prayer.
3 Oh, the precious name of Jesus,
How it thrills our souls with joy,
When His loving arms receive us,
And His songs Our tongues employ!
4 At the name of Jesus bowing,
Falling prostrate at His feet
King of kings, in heaven we’ll crown Him
When our journey is complete.
