Title: Work For God
Memorize: I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. John 9:4 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:58 (Nkjv)
[58] Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Message:
As a child of God, you are meant to serve in His vineyard. This is because service can lead to honour, open greater opportunities, and position you for success. I am a living testimony that when we work faithfully for God, our efforts are never wasted. Even when results are not immediate, God sees and rewards our labour in His perfect time, as written in today’s Bible reading.
When my Father in the Lord, Pa Josiah Akindayomi, passed on, he left behind 39 parishes of The Redeemed Christian Church of God in Nigeria. By God’s grace, the church now has thousands of parishes over 195 nations worldwide. One of the factors responsible for this expansion is the diligent labour of God’s children in this mission.
My dear child, let me ask you, what are you doing for God? Are you actively involved in what happens in your local assembly? If Jesus could leave His glorious position in heaven to come and do the work of the Father on the earth, how much more you? Do all you can for your Father now because a time will come when you will have little strength to do His work.
Key Point:
Serving God leads to honor and can open doors of blessings and position you for success.
HYMN 4: REVIVE THY WORK, O LORD
1 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
Thy mighty arm make bare;
speak with the voice that wakes the dead,
and make Thy people hear.
Refrain:
Revive Thy work, O Lord,
while here to Thee we bow;
descend, O gracious Lord, descend!
O come and bless us now.
2 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
now let us thirst for Thee;
and hung’ring for the bread of life
may all our spirits be. [Refrain]
3 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
exalt Thy precious name;
and, by the Holy Ghost, our love
for Thee and Thine inflame. [Refrain]
4 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
give pow’r unto Thy word;
grant that Thy blessed gospel may
in living faith be heard. [Refrain]
5 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
and give refreshing show’rs;
the glory shall be all Thine own,
the blessing, Lord, be ours. [Refrain]
