Title: In His Name
Memorize: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, Philippians 2:10 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Philippians 2:9-11 (Nkjv)
[9] Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
[10] that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
[11] and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Message:
The name of Jesus is not just an ordinary name; it is the name that commands obedience from all of creation, including demonic forces. The name of Jesus carries divine authority and power. Many times in the Bible, we see demons tremble and flee at the mention of His name. This is because Jesus Christ is the ultimate authority over every power, both seen and unseen.
God desires that all His children walk in authority using the name of Jesus. Casting out demons is not reserved for pastors or a selected few; it is part of every believer’s inheritance in Christ. Using the name of Jesus is not just about speaking it, however, it requires a deep relationship with Him. Those who are intimately connected to Jesus and live in obedience to Him can confidently use His name with power.
It is important to understand that demons do not respond to empty words or human strength; instead, they submit to the authority of Jesus. My dear child, if you desire to exercise spiritual authority, ensure that you are truly in Christ. His name is a weapon, but only those who belong to Him can wield it effectively.
Key Point:
To cast out demons in the name of Jesus, you must have an intimate relationship with Him.
Hymn 18: O Worship The King All-Glorious Above
1 O worship the King all-glorious above,
O gratefully sing his power and his love:
our shield and defender, the Ancient of Days,
pavilioned in splendor and girded with praise.
2 O tell of his might and sing of his grace,
whose robe is the light, whose canopy space.
His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form,
and dark is his path on the wings of the storm.
3 Your bountiful care, what tongue can recite?
It breathes in the air, it shines in the light;
it streams from the hills, it descends to the plain,
and sweetly distills in the dew and the rain.
4 Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail,
in you do we trust, nor find you to fail.
Your mercies, how tender, how firm to the end,
our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend!
5 O measureless Might, unchangeable Love,
whom angels delight to worship above!
Your ransomed creation, with glory ablaze,
in true adoration shall sing to your praise!
