Title: Avoid Comparison
Memorize: For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. 2 Corinthians 10:12 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Psalm 139:13-16 (Nkjv)
[13] For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.
[14] I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.
[15] My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
[16] Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.
Message:
know how easy it is for young people to compare their lives with others, especially when scrolling through social media. Some of them begin to feel like they aren’t good enough. They may see pictures of their friends going on vacations, attending exciting events, or showing off new possessions, and suddenly, their own life begins to seem boring to them.
The truth is that many people only post their best moments online, not their struggles. That classmate who looks perfect in every picture may have taken ten photos or more before choosing the ‘perfect’ one to upload. That friend who seems to have the perfect life may be battling personal issues that he or she doesn’t talk about. My dear child, please don’t compare your behind-the-scenes to someone else’s highlight reel.
God has a special plan for you. He made you unique, and your journey is different from everyone else’s. Therefore, rather than spending time comparing your life with others, focus on becoming the best version of yourself. Follow Christian pages on social media that will uplift your spirit, spend time fellowshipping with God, and count your blessings. I pray that you won’t get swayed by social media, in Jesus’ name.
Key Point:
Avoid comparing yourself with others.
HYMN 17: GOD SENT HIS SON, THEY CALLED HIM JESUS
1. God sent His son,
They called Him, Jesus;
He came to love,
Heal and forgive;
He lived and died
To buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there
To prove my Savior lives!
Chorus
Because He lives,
I can face tomorrow!
Because He lives,
All fear is gone.
Because I know
He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!
2. How sweet to hold
A newborn baby,
And feel the pride
And joy he brings;
But greater still
The calm assurance:
This child can face
Uncertain days because He Lives!
3. And then one day,
I’ll cross the river,
I’ll fight life’s final
War with pain;
And then, as death
Gives way to victory,
I’ll see the lights of glory
And I’ll know He lives!
