Title: Are You Watching?
Memorize: Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. Mark 13:33 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Luke 21:34-36 (Nkjv)
[34] “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.
[35] For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth.
[36] Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Message:
Today’s memory verse emphasises on the importance of being watchful (vigilant) and prayerful because the time of the Lord’s return is near, and it will be tragic to be caught unawares. The call to watchfulness is tied to prayer and spiritual readiness. It is a call to be on quard and alert in readiness for the coming of our Saviour. It is also a warning against complacency, backsliding, and a lack of spiritual awareness.
My dear child, watch out! The devil will do all he can to try to lure you away from your eternal reward with your heavenly Father. He will use negative peer pressure, lies, sexual temptation, material things, false teachers and prophets, et cetera. Do not fall for his wiles; instead, work out your salvation daily with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12).
Key Point:
The Lord’s coming is near. Stay alert!
