Title: Strange Fire Destroys
Memorize: Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Timothy 2:22 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Leviticus 10:1-2 (Nkjv)
[1] Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded them.
[2] So fire went out from the Lord and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.
Message:
Fire can be used for both constructive and destructive purposes in the physical realm, and the same is true in the spiritual realm.
In the spiritual realm, fire can be classified into two: godly and ungodly.
Godly fire comes from the Holy Spirit, while ungodly fire arises from fleshly desires and disobedience to God’s Word.
While godly fire empowers believers to stand against darkness and fulfil divine purpose, ungodly fire pushes people to act outside God’s will, leading to destruction.
In today’s Bible reading, Nadab and Abihu offered strange fire before the Lord and were consumed.
Ungodly fire leads to ungodly actions. Samson departed from God’s covering because of the strange fire of lust in his life; he got involved with a Woman outside God’s will, and it cost him his freedom and ultimatelų, his life (Judges 16).
The moment you notice any form of ungodly passion or desire creeping into your heart, extinguish it immediately. Don’t feed or entertain it because it can destroy you.
My dear child, strange fire can manifest itself in subtle ways. As a young boy or girl, avoid being in compromising situations like being alone with members of the opposite sex in enclosed places.
Also, giving God things that were gained through unrighteous means is offering strange fire to Him, and that is dangerous.
I pray that you will not get involved with strange fire, in Jesus’ name.
Key Point:
Any form of offering or service that is done in unrighteousness is a strange fire before God.
HYMN 70: ALL TO JESUS I SURRENDER
1 All to Jesus I surrender
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.
Chorus:
I surrender all.
I surrender all:
All to Thee,
my blessed saviour
I surrender alI
2 All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow;
Worldly pleasures all forsaken.
Take me, Jesus, take me now.
3 All to Jesus I surrender.
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me.
4 All to Jesus I surrender,
Now I feel the sacred flame
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory to His name!
