Title: A New Identity
Memorize: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: John 1:12 (Nkjv)
[1] But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
Message:
Everyone born into this world was born a sinner due to the sinful nature inherited from the first man on the earth, Adam.
Glory be unto Jesus, who came to die for the world in order to reconcile man with God.
Therefore, when you genuinely give your life to Christ, you are automatically translated into God’s family.
Today’s memory verse makes it clear that the moment a fellow surrenders his or her life to Jesus Christ, such a fellow becomes a new creature.
This means that the fellow’s status will change before God; it will become as though he or she has never ever sinned.
If you have surrendered your life to Jesus, it means that you have a new identity in Christ, and your behaviour, thoughts, and words must align with His.
Do not go back to your past errors becaUse if you do, it will mean that you are nailing Jesus to the cross again.
For you to stay true to your new identity, study God’s word frequently so that you can be acquainted with His dos and don’ts, praise and worship Him constantly, attend a Bible-believing church where they teach the undiluted word of God, give to the poor, and give your offerings and tithes to God.
My dear child, I strongly encourage you to be completely sold out to the Lord. As you do this, may your life remain evergreen in His presence, in Jesus’ name.
Key Point:
Maintain your new identity.
HYMN 60: MOST ANCIENT OF ALL MYSTERIES
1 Most ancient of all mysteries,
Before Thy throne we lie;
Have mercy now, most merciful,
Most holy Trinity.
2 When heav’n and earth were yet unmade,
When time was yet unknown,
Thou in Thy bliss and majesty
Didst live and love alone.
3 Thou wert not born; there was no fount
From which Thy Being flowed;
There is no end which Thou canst reach;
But ThoU art simply God.
4 How wonderful creation is,
The work which Thou didst bless,
And O what then must Thou be like,
Eternal loveliness!
5 0 listen then, most pitiful,
To Thy poor creature’s heart:
It blesses Thee that Thou art God,
That Thou art what ThoU art.
6 Most ancient of all mysteries,
Still at thy throne we lie;
Have mercy now, most merciful,
Most holy Trinity.
