TOPIC – Fresh Oil
MEMORISE: But my horn You have exalted like a wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil. Psalm 92:10
BIBLE READING: Acts 10:38-39
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
MESSAGE:
The word ‘fresh’ has several meanings. It can mean something recent or newly made. It can also mean something that is renewed or restored. In Christendom, fresh oil refers to the anointing. The anointing makes one do great exploits for God, and a fresh one can be gotten at every encounter with Him.
In today’s Bible reading, Jesus was anointed by God, and He did great things. He healed the sick, delivered the oppressed, gave sight to the blind, et cetera. Likewise, when a believer has the kind of anointing that was upon Jesus, he or she will carry out great exploits for God. Such a believer will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover. He or she will pray for the lame, and they will walk.
My dear child, God’s anointing can work for you in different aspects of your life. It can make you excel academically, perform excellently, and make lasting impact in the World. You can get this anointing by asking God for it. You must be Careful, however, not to toy with sin when you get it. This is because sin will make you lose your relevance and reward in heaven.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, I want to do exploits for You. Please, anoint me afresh today.
