Title: Know Your Value
Memorize: My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent. Proverbs 1:10 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Matthew 26:14-16 (Nkjv)
[14] Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests
[15] and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver Him to you?” And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver.
[16] So from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.
Message:
Understanding your value is crucial in making wise decisions and maintaining your self-respect.
When you truly know your worth, you will not be easily swayed by material things or temporary pleasures.
Christians with a strong self-esteem do not fall for cheap enticements because they understand that their true value comes from God.
As we see in today’s Bible reading, Judas Iscariot failed to recognise the priceless privilege of being a disciple of Jesus.
He allowed greed to control him, and he eventually betrayed the Son of God for just thirty pieces of silver.
By the time he realised his grave mistake, it was too late (Matthew 27:3-5). In the same way, many people in the world today compromise their faith and dignity for momentary gains.
My dear child, never trade your worth for things that will fade away. No amount of money or material possessions can compare to the value of walking with Jesus.
The world may try to entice you; however, I admonish you to stand firm in Jesus.
Those who sell themselves for temporary pleasure often live with regret.
May you never make choices that will make you live the rest of your life in regret, in Jesus’ name.
Action Point:
Your value in Christ is far greater than anything the world can offer.
HYMN 2: I AM THINE O LORD
1 I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
and it told Thy love to me;
but I long to rise in the arms of faith,
and be closer drawn to Thee.
Refrain:
Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
to the cross where Thou hast died;
draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
to Thy precious, bleeding side.
2 Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
by the pow’r of grace divine;
let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
and my will be lost in Thine. [Refrain]
3 O, the pure delight of a single hour
that before Thy throne I spend,
when I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
I commune as friend with friend! [Refrain]
4 There are depths of love that I cannot know
till I cross the narrow sea;
there are heights of joy that I may not reach
till I rest in peace with Thee. [Refrain]
